	Amazing Animals by Rhonda Phillips Forsythe (Lewiston- Woodville, N.C.) I usually raise chickens, on a small scale for eggs, and pets, but I tried the Hoemsteaders Delight from McMurray Hatcheries this spring. This was a variety of different birds, including a Bourbon Red Turkey, that I have fallen in love with. Though young, I think it is a tom, and he has a personality and a half. I let Charlie out of his pen, with supervision for a few minutes every day, and this is our "bonding" time. He follows me around the yard, and talks "happy talk" to me - I guess he thinks I am a turkey too, ha! ( I know my neighbors get a kick out of me, talking to my turkey, and turning over boards for him to eat the bugs underneath, etc...) Click here to post comments. Join in and write your own page!
